Yahoo Mail launched AI-Powered features for enhanced user experience and savings
Yahoo Mail has introduced new AI-powered features designed to help users save time and money. The update includes a 'Shopping Saver' tool that finds unused gift cards, discount codes, and store credits for users, and also creates suggested messages to vendors for applying savings after a purchase. This tool is targeted at the 50% of U.S. adults with unused gift cards or store credits, collectively worth $23 billion.
Josh Jacobson, SVP and GM of Yahoo Mail, emphasized that these updates align with their goal of creating a more assistive inbox. The search functionality in Yahoo Mail has also been improved, suggesting common questions to aid user searches. New filters such as From, To, and Date have been added to refine search results.
The writing assistant in Yahoo Mail now provides a range of tones for suggested replies, such as urgent, grateful, or apologetic. These AI features, developed using Google Cloud's AI platform, were first tested with iOS users and are now available on web browsers. Yahoo plans a public release for these features, following Google and Microsoft who have recently added similar AI-powered features to their email platforms.

Comments
I dont think brining AI features is going to help Yahoo Mail gain new users or help exisiting users. These features are still very rudimentary.
Yes, I agree that Yahoo Mail needs much more to increase its market share, although I have to admit that some of the new features sound interesting, like being able to casually inquire about specific information without having to manually search through the entire email.
