Twitch will introduce new feature allowing streamers to block banned users from viewing streams

During a recent Patch Notes stream, Twitch announced an upcoming change to its platform. As of now, when a user is banned, they are only prevented from communicating via Twitch chat. However, starting in September, streamers will be able to opt-in to a feature that prevents banned chatters from viewing their streams.

This new feature, however, will have its limitations. It will only be able to prevent logged-in, blocked, or banned users from watching a stream. Twitch does not currently have a system to block IP addresses or keep track of logged-out users.

In addition, the new option will not stop banned viewers from watching VODs, highlights, and clips. However, Twitch has indicated that they plan to expand the feature to include these aspects in the future.
