Threads introduces new Reposts tab, separating original posts from reposts
Meta's X (Twitter) competitor, Threads, has introduced a new feature that separates users' original posts from reposts. The reposts have been moved to a separate tab but remain intact. This development comes as Meta continues to work on substantial changes to Threads, including a desktop version of the app.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced the updates in a post on Thursday evening. He stated, “Two small updates for Threads that are worth mentioning: we're rolling out a new Reposts tab on your profile so you can see all the threads you reposted in one place. We are also, based on your feedback, adding reposts to your Following Feed 🙌🏼”.
Despite these updates, many Threads users who have left the platform may not be enticed to return. However, on August 4th, CEO Mark Zuckerberg assured that enhanced search functionality and a web client will be launched “in the next few weeks,” which could potentially encourage some former users to rejoin.
