Microsoft Azure Firewall enhances cloud security with new latency probe, resource health, and embedded workbooks features
Microsoft Azure Firewall has added a Latency Probe feature to enhance cloud security. This tool allows IT administrators to diagnose and monitor service latency, helping identify and troubleshoot potential network issues including networking problems, CPU utilization, and throughput issues.
The Resource Health section is another new feature, currently in public preview, that offers a snapshot of the Azure Firewall system's health. It provides proactive notifications and suggests mitigation actions for various health events. This feature is automatically enabled in Azure Firewall, removing the need for manual activation by administrators.
Lastly, Microsoft Azure has launched Embedded Firewall Workbooks, also in public preview. These workbooks offer a user-friendly presentation of Azure Firewall data, helping administrators understand firewall events, analyze application and network rules, and review firewall activity statistics. To access these workbooks, administrators must go to Azure Firewall Monitoring in the Azure Portal. Check out all the features and information in the official announcement.
