Instagram tests new feature allowing creators to highlight comments in stories

Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that allows creators to highlight significant comments in their Stories. Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, announced the testing phase via a post on the "IG updates" channel (you have to subscribe to the broadcast, and then can view the messages from the DMs inbox). The feature is currently available for public accounts, allowing them to share comments from any public feed post or Reels directly to their Stories.

Creators can select a comment, swipe on it, and tap the "Add to story" icon to use the feature. The highlighted comment will then appear in the Stories feed with the original post.

There is no information yet about when this feature will be widely available or the scope of the current test, but it shouldn't take long, specifically if it's one of the main executives who gives the hints. We recently reported as well that the platform was testing the possibility of disabling the 'Seen' status in DMs, in addition to the recent improvements to Reels with new Collab features and interactive challenges.
