Google's Gboard for Android introduces new 'resize' feature for adjustable keyboard dimensions

Google's Gboard for Android has launched a "Resize" feature, enabling users to adjust the dimensions of their keyboard. The feature can be accessed through a toolbar/tray option and offers a visual interface for precise keyboard alterations.

The user interface supports dragging and adjusting the keyboard's height based on user preference with increased precision. The width of the keyboard can also be adjusted, with options ranging from a third of the screen to half, three-quarters, and beyond.

Users can also reposition the keyboard if it doesn't fill the entire screen. By shifting the keyboard upwards, users can create empty space below the last row or spacebar. Adjustments can be confirmed by clicking a checkmark, or users can revert to the original keyboard height. The Resize feature, currently available in Gboard version 13.2.05.x beta for Android phones and tablets, may not be available on all devices yet, suggesting a phased rollout.

imo Gboard is pretty much just a reskin of Swype keyboard (now owned by MS) lmao, except Gboard gets features years later.
