Google Chrome for iOS tests new feature for bottom-placed address bar, following Safari and Firefox

Google Chrome for iOS is currently testing a new feature that would allow users to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen. This modification, already available on Apple’s Safari and Mozilla Firefox, was first noticed by MacRumors contributor Steve Moser in the TestFlight version of the app.

This change could benefit users who frequently toggle between different web browsers, as well as those using larger screens where the bottom of the screen is easier to reach. The feature's positioning aligns with the existing search bar positions on Safari and Firefox, potentially offering a more seamless experience for users.

For those interested in testing this feature, instructions have been provided by Steve Moser on how to activate it within Chrome’s TestFlight build for iOS. However, there is currently no information available about whether this feature will be introduced to Chrome on Android in the future.
