Figma enhances Dev Mode with over 200 new features, enhancements and fixes

Figma, the collaborative interface design tool, has recently announced a significant update to its newly unveiled Dev Mode, shipping over 200 of the most requested enhancements. The updates span across a wide range of areas, including upgrades to existing features, expansion of functionalities, creation of help articles, and more.

Among the new features introduced, users now have the capability to add status labels to components, instances, and frames, which could enhance project management and communication within teams. Other notable updates include a simplified way to access layout grids, rules, and outline mode, as well as a feature that allows users to compare changes to the main component.

In response to popular demand, Figma has reinstated Android XML & iOS UIKit as code options. They have also implemented numerous usability and performance improvements, updates to code generation, and a host of bug fixes.

Despite the extensive updates, Dev Mode remains in open beta. Figma continues to encourage user feedback as they strive to further bridge the gap between design and development.
