The Elgato Stream Deck Mobile app can now be used for free on iOS, with an advanced Pro version available
Elgato Stream Deck app, designed for content creation and streaming, has received an update on iOS with a new freemium model. The app will now be available for free, offering up to six keys and unlimited actions for users. Users can explore community plugins and profiles on the Elgato Marketplace, and access a range of plugins for popular applications with the free version of the app.
Elgato offers advanced features like custom layouts, backgrounds, dark and light modes, control keyboard orientation, community plugin support, multiple profiles, and up to 64 buttons through a "Pro" subscription or one-time purchase. This new Pro version enables users to customize the number and layout of keys, use custom front panels or images from the user's photo gallery. The iPad version of the app takes full advantage of the screen's real estate and supports running two Stream Deck keypads side-by-side, providing access to up to 128 buttons.
The Stream Deck mobile app is currently available on the Apple App Store for iOS and iPadOS devices, with the Pro subscription available at a monthly ($2.99), annually ($24.99), or through a one-time purchase ($49.99). Android users can expect updates for the app in the future, as announced by Elgato on Twitter. If the 6 keys offered in the free version don't seem enough to you and don't want to pay, you may want to take a look at other options like TouchPortal or the open-source Macro Deck.
