Email client Geary releases version 44 with revamped conversation list and reworked headerbar

Geary, a GNOME desktop-based email client for Linux, has launched version 44, over nine months following the release of version 43. The email client, known for its simplicity and speed, is built around conversations.

The new version introduces a revamped conversation list and a reworked headerbar. It also addresses network detection issues that have been present in previous versions.

In addition to these updates, version 44 suspends the engine during system suspend, a feature that was not available in the previous version. This release also brings a host of user interface translation updates, bug fixes, and user interface improvements, further enhancing the overall user experience.

Our take: After trying Thunderbird and Mailspring on my Linux laptop, I've finally ended up with Geary for managing all my personal and professional emails. The software is pretty minimal. It's simple and fast, and it does everything I need. Mailspring is pretty good, but it's freemium, there are various annoying bugs, and it's not the fastest, while Thunderbird is overcomplicated for my needs. I look forward to the Thunderbird Supernova update, though.
