Stitcher podcast app will shut down on August 29, its functionality to be integrated into SiriusXM
Stitcher, one of the oldest podcast apps, will be shutting down on August 29, according to an internal memo and announcement on the official website. The app's features will be integrated into SiriusXM, the parent company of Stitcher, and subscribers will still be able to listen to their favorite podcasts within the SiriusXM app.
Users who had subscribed to Stitcher Premium on an annual basis will receive refunds for the unused portion of their subscription period.
The company reminds the users that all podcasts on Stitcher can be found anywhere else they are distributed and they can use the option "Export My Shows" on the website or mobile app to move on other platforms.
