Proton announces the global launch of Proton Pass, its encrypted password manager
Proton has officially launched its encrypted password manager, Proton Pass, today. The new tool is now available as a browser extension on major browsers, as well as on iOS and Android devices.
With Proton Pass, users can generate and save secure passwords and create hide-my-email aliases to filter out trackers and marketing tools.
One of the key advantages of Proton Pass is its focus on privacy and encryption. Unlike other password managers, Proton Pass encrypts all fields, including the username and web address, ensuring that users' sensitive information remains secure. It is also open source, allowing users to review the code, offers convenient syncing capabilities across devices and and automatic end-to-end encrypted backups of your data.
Proton Pass offers a free option with unlimited logins and encrypted notes, as well as a limited number of hide-my-email aliases and 2FA logins. Alternatively, users can opt for the paid subscription, Proton Pass Plus, available at a discounted price of $1/month until the end of July.
