Firefox Relay will allow you to organize emails and create aliases in a second using the new browser addons
Mozilla is ready to renew Firefox Relay , its freemium service dedicated to creating email aliases, designed to safeguard the main email account from spam and unwanted messages. These updates mainly concern the desktop browser add-on, including Firefox and Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome and Edge.
Here are the upcoming news: Firefox Relay will be accessible from the browser toolbar on any website, allowing users to quickly create new aliases or reuse previously created ones. For premium users, it will now be possible to create customized aliases directly from the add-on on the toolbar.
Launched in 2020, Firefox Relay has proven to be a useful tool for protecting users' online privacy and security. Essentially, it is the evolution of the idea of having a secondary email address, used exclusively for unwanted communications such as subscriptions and sign-ups. Instead of providing the main personal email address, users can offer an alias that can be deleted at any time if compromised by a data breach.
Firefox Relay is available in a free version, but it also offers a premium option for €1 per month, which includes several advantages. These include the ability to customize the name of the email alias, while free users have to accept an automatically generated name. Furthermore, the premium plan allows the creation of an unlimited number of aliases, while the free version allows a maximum of five. The premium version also includes an integrated anti-spam system and the ability to respond to emails anonymously. Mozilla is also working on a service that will allow the creation of aliases for phone numbers, in addition to email aliases.
