BeReal launches RealPeople: A curated collection of unfiltered glimpses into the famous individuals
BeReal has launched a new feature called "RealPeople", which showcases a timeline of the world's most fascinating individuals, including athletes, artists, and activists. The curated collection of RealPeople is ever-changing, featuring people from different parts of the world who inspire and intrigue users on the platform. The RealPeople feature aims to shatter the societal notion that public figures live in an alternate, filtered universe by providing real and unfiltered glimpses into their daily lives.
RealPeople is not about influencing or amassing likes or comments, or promoting brands, they said. Users won't see perfect photoshopped pictures, product recommendations, or ads disguised as posts. Instead, the feature is designed to show that we're all more alike than we think and that it's okay to be authentic no matter who you are. The RealPeople feature is accessible by simply going to the Discovery tab and selecting RealPeople.
During the launch, users will be able to interact with RealPeople posts by reacting with a RealMoji. Users can also hide posts from their RealPeople timeline to keep it catered to their interests. Additionally, if any user finds a post offensive, they can report it by clicking "Report this BeReal." The RealPeople feature is currently being tested in the UK, with the rest of the world coming soon.
