Stay Connected Across Devices: WhatsApp Beta Introduces Companion Mode for Android

WhatsApp has just rolled out a new feature in its beta version for Android, the Companion mode. This feature allows users to sync their chat history on up to four devices, even if their primary phone is not connected to the internet. The beta version for Android v2.23.8.2 includes this new feature, which was introduced in November 2022.

This function is not yet available for WhatsApp for iOS, but iPhone users can already link an Android phone or a tablet as second device. In order to activate the Companion mode, after downloading the latest beta of WhatsApp Messenger, just select the option “Link a device” in the registration screen and scan the QR Code provided in the primacy device.

The Companion mode is expected to be a welcome addition for users who frequently switch devices.
