Telegram introduces new features: Similar Channels Discovery, Reposting Stories, and more
Telegram has recently introduced several updates to its messaging apps for Android and iOS, including a new 'Similar Channels Discovery' feature, which enables users to find public channels that match their interests by analyzing subscriber bases. Users can access these suggestions when joining a channel or through the channel's profile. The Reposting Stories feature has also been updated, allowing users to repost stories from friends and channels with just two clicks, and add content such as text, audio, or video comments. Just keep in mind that only stories visible to 'Everyone' can be reposted to ensure user privacy.
New features for Stories also includes Story Stats for channels with story-posting capabilities with detailed insights into story views, shares, and reactions, as well as Video Messages, allowing users to add a small video bubble with their faces and adjust its size and position, moving it along the time axis. Premium Profile Customization is now available for premium users, providing them with the ability to set unique color combinations and logos for their profiles, and set custom wallpapers for both sides of a conversation. In a nice addition, the Voice-to-Text feature previously exclusive to Premium users, is now available to all free users, enabling them to convert up to 2 messages per week into text.
Many more additions include Channel admins being able to manage reactions, add or remove emojis, and include custom emoji reactions, as well as a new Code Highlighting feature in Messages and improvements to Topics in Groups. The updates are currently available for iOS users and Android users who downloaded Telegram from telegram.org/android, with the Google Play version pending review.
