Tampermonkey 5.0 requires developer mode for running userscripts in Chrome

Tampermonkey, a widely-used userscript manager compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and other web browsers, has launched version 5.0 of its browser extension. The new release is set to mandate enabling developer mode for running userscripts, a decision that aligns with Google's forthcoming controversial Manifest V3.

The 5.0 version of Tampermonkey is packed with significant updates to ensure its compatibility with the upcoming Manifest V3. Notably, content-security-policy (CSP) directives will no longer be relaxed by default. While script injection will continue to function as normal, certain userscripts may rely on a relaxed CSP. To revert to the old behavior, users will need to adjust the 'Modify existing content security policy (CSP) headers' setting to 'Yes'.

In addition to these major changes, Tampermonkey 5.0 includes minor enhancements and bug fixes to improve overall user experience.
