Serif unveils Affinity Suite 2.3 update with new spiral tool, pixel grid option, and more

Serif, the developer of the well-known Affinity suite of software, has launched version 2.3 of Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, and Affinity Publisher. The latest version introduces a new tool that enables users to create various types of spirals, a feature that has been highly requested by the user community.

A new pixel grid option has been incorporated into all Affinity apps. This feature, accessible via the View menu, displays a pixel grid according to the DPI of the current document when zoomed in beyond a specific threshold.

In response to user feedback, all Affinity apps now support the creation and placement of password-protected PDFs. Further enhancements include modifications to Move Data Entry, such as the ability to create duplicates in front or behind the original, a scale option for quick object resizing by a specific percentage, and property adjustments of the transformed object without dismissing the dialog.

For accessibility purposes, a new Tags Panel has been added to Affinity Publisher, allowing users to add alt text to any image or object when exporting to PDF. Users can also customize the background of the Asset Panel to be light, dark, checkerboard or automatic, depending on the current Light/Dark UI setting.

Alongside these new features, the Affinity Suite 2.3 update also includes a range of other enhancements and bug fixes.
