MuseScore releases 4.2 version with enhanced guitar bends system and new instrument pack

MuseScore, a free and open-source music notation and composition software, has recently announced the release of its 4.2 version. The upgrade introduces an advanced system for guitar bends, featuring enhanced engraving and highly realistic playback. Other key features of this update include substantial improvements for scores with multiple parts.

The 4.2 version of MuseScore also brings support for alternate string tunings, improved synchronization between the score and the parts, and the flexibility to exclude specific elements from the score or the parts. The update also offers several enhancements in both playback and engraving.

Alongside the update, MuseScore has also released a new free instrument pack in the Muse Sounds collection, Muse Guitars, Vol. 1. This pack contains steel and nylon six-string acoustic guitars, two electric guitars, and an electric bass. It is available in Muse Hub along with the existing choral and orchestral Muse Sounds.

For Linux users, Muse Hub has been renamed to Muse Sounds Manager to more accurately reflect its purpose and capabilities on the platform. The Muse Sounds Manager is now available as an RPM package, in addition to the existing DEB package.
