Drupal 10.2 has been released with enhanced features and PHP 8.3 compatibility
Drupal, one of the most enduring content management systems (CMS) with a significant global user base, has released its second feature update for Drupal 10. Despite a decline in usage over the past decade, hundreds of thousands of websites worldwide continue to run on Drupal.
Drupal 10.2 introduces enhancements across various aspects of the CMS. These include improved content modeling, block management, menu and taxonomy organization, and permission administration.
Another noteworthy update in Drupal 10.2 is the new options to sanitize file names. This feature allows for the cleaning up of names of uploaded files. Additionally, media item revisions now benefit from a dedicated user interface.
Drupal 10.2 also demonstrates quick adaptability to recent developments in PHP. PHP 8.3, released just three weeks ago, is already compatible with Drupal 10.2.
In a move towards modern PHP language features, Drupal core has started adopting PHP attributes. This is aimed at providing a better developer experience for plugin annotations.
The 10.2 update also brings a series of developer experience improvements, changes, and bug fixes, further enhancing the Drupal content management system.
