Samsung Internet browser now available on Microsoft Store for all Windows users
Samsung Internet, a prominent web browser on Android, has expanded its reach to the Microsoft Store, making it accessible to all Windows PCs and laptops. This move is not restricted to Samsung-manufactured devices, broadening its user base.
One of the key advantages of Samsung Internet's transition to a desktop operating system is the ability to sync browsing data between phone and PC. This feature has been a significant factor preventing many users from adopting Samsung Internet as their primary browser on phones and tablets.
However, Samsung has not yet fully enabled sync support on Samsung Internet for Windows. Users can log in with their Samsung account, but only browsing history, bookmarks, saved pages, and open tabs are currently syncable. Password syncing is not yet available.
Samsung Internet incorporates significant components of Samsung's Android browser, including the ad-blocker and anti-tracking feature. However, users may notice that the Windows version lacks some features currently available on Android, such as the option to download Translator for translating foreign language pages.
On a positive note, users can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store to enhance the browser's functionality. Despite this, Samsung Internet currently offers a rather basic experience, lacking some of the features that have popularized the Android version of the browser.
