GitLab unveils AI-driven updates to GitLab Duo including beta release of GitLab Duo Chat
GitLab, the renowned AI-driven DevSecOps platform, has unveiled updates to GitLab Duo, its AI capabilities suite. The updates include the beta release of GitLab Duo Chat and the forthcoming general availability of GitLab Duo Code Suggestions.
The beta version of GitLab Duo Chat will be available from November 16. It will be incorporated into GitLab's Web IDE and the GitLab Workflow extension for Visual Studio Code as an experimental release. This feature aims to streamline the development process by enabling code explanations, test generation, and code creation directly within the development environment, eliminating the need for context switching.
Moreover, GitLab Duo Code Suggestions, currently in Beta, is set to transition to general availability later this year.
It's important to mention that GitLab Duo Chat is designed with a privacy-first approach. It does not utilize your proprietary code or any inputs to Chat for training data. This privacy consideration extends to both the prompt and the output of Chat.
