Discord is discontinuing Clyde, its experimental AI chatbot, effective December 1st

Discord has announced the termination of its AI chatbot, Clyde, effective from December 1st. The chatbot, which used OpenAI’s models to engage with users, will be deactivated across all communication channels, including direct messages, group DMs, and server chats. The reason behind this sudden decision remains unclear, as Discord had initially planned to incorporate Clyde as a significant feature of its app.

Despite limited testing since its launch, the abrupt shutdown of Clyde has led to speculation about Discord's future AI chatbot plans. Some users suggest that Clyde might return as a paid feature for Nitro users, while others believe Discord may have concluded that an AI chatbot is not essential for their service, based on data from the testing phase.

It actually amazes me how bad Discord devs are at building a feature, it's always mediocre
