AI video editing platform Pika releases public version 1.0 with new features and look
AI video editing startup Pika has released the public version 1.0 of its platform and raised $55 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Since its beta launch six months ago, Pika has attracted half a million users who produce millions of videos weekly.
Pika's platform uses generative AI models to create videos from captions and images, aiming to make video creation more accessible through a text-to-video model. The latest upgrade Pika 1.0, features a sophisticated AI model that can generate and change videos into many styles like 3D animation, anime, cartoon, and cinematic formats. New tools in this version can also extend video length, change size format, and edit content such as changing clothes or adding characters.
Pika 1.0 also comes with a new logo and a redesigned web interface, which, together with the new features and improved capabilities, make it a strong competitor to other alternatives like Runway, Kaiber SuperStudio, or the recently announced Stable Video Diffusion.
