Tubi introduces 'Rabbit AI', a GPT-4 powered content discovery feature
Tubi, the streaming service, is introducing a new mobile feature known as "Rabbit AI," powered by OpenAI's GPT-4. Rabbit AI is designed to offer personalized content suggestions to users, enabling them to ask specific questions in a natural language (as you would do with ChatGPT) about content and explore new TV shows and movies from Tubi's extensive library of over 200,000 titles.
The Rabbit AI feature also incorporates a bookmarking system, allowing users to add recommended content to a favorites list. Tubi will also retain users' search history within the feature, known as "Rabbit Holes," enabling users to return to their previous searches.
Currently, Rabbit AI is undergoing beta testing on Tubi's iOS mobile app, with plans for a wider release in the upcoming weeks. OpenAI's paying subscribers will also be able to use the Rabbit AI plug-in for ChatGPT, which was recently updated to add a voice command feature, allowing users to have verbal interactions with the chatbot. Blake Bassett, Tubi's senior director of product, emphasized the company's unique ability to offer moment-specific content recommendations due to its vast library and sophisticated machine learning algorithms. The launch of Rabbit AI comes at a good time, especially considering that this can be a viable alternative now that Disney+ is following in Netflix's footsteps with the crackdown on password sharing policy.
