The official Gmail app for Wear OS is finally here, improving smartwatch email management

Google has officially launched a Gmail app for Wear OS, allowing smartwatch users to manage their email inbox directly from their devices. This release comes after months of speculation that the app was being tested on a Pixel Watch.

Previously, Wear OS users could only archive, reply, or delete emails from their smartwatches upon receiving Gmail notifications like any other app. The new Gmail app was introduced alongside the Pixel Watch 2 at the Made By Google event. The app is available for download from the Google Play Store and is compatible with Wear OS 3 or Wear OS 4.

Despite Gmail now being available on Wear OS, there are no plans to expand the app to the Apple Watch, which still has limited email management functionality. As a result, smartwatches like the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch, which are highly integrated with Google apps, are becoming more attractive to users, especially considering that WhatsApp is now fully supported as well.

I wonder what features other than archive, reply or delete emails can be useful on a smartwatch. What else can you do with your emails ?
