Netflix is planning another global price hike once the actors' strike ends
Netflix is reportedly planning another price hike, after the actors' strike ends, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The strike, which had been ongoing for several months, was brought to a halt following a tentative agreement between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
The price increase is expected to impact several markets globally, with the US and Canada being the first. However, the exact amount of the hike is yet to be disclosed.
This is not the first time Netflix has raised its prices. In the previous year, the streaming giant increased costs across all its plans. The ad-free Standard tier was adjusted to $15.49/month, while the Premium plan was set at $19.99/month. Additionally, Netflix introduced a $6.99/month ad-supported plan, and discontinued its $9.99/month basic ad-free plan.
This trend of price hikes is not exclusive to Netflix. Disney also recently implemented a similar change for its Disney+ streaming service. As of now, there is no specific information available regarding when the new prices will take effect or by how much they will increase.

Stop paying these greedy pricks for their crap content. Put up an antenna to get free over-the-air TV and use free streaming services like Tubi and Pluto. Lots to watch on archive.org and youtube, too.
