Keyboard Maestro launches version 11 with many new features and enhanced functionality
Keyboard Maestro, a well-known automation software for macOS, has launched its version 11, incorporating a variety of new features, enhancements, and bug rectifications. The update includes an extended editor with a New Macro Wizard, a fresh Security preference pane, and improved search and syncing functionalities.
The engine has been upgraded with a new command line tool called 'keyboardmaestro' for triggering macros, modern JavaScript syntax, and the Apple Text Recognition option. It also showcases a new palette to display active macro groups, and bolstered scripting support, among other features.
Version 11 introduces a new Space Changed trigger, alongside fresh trigger options for hot keys and device keys. It also supports the use of modifier taps in Typed String triggers.
The update includes a plethora of new actions such as Prompt for Snippet, Create Calendar Event, Send Pushover Notification, Set Screen Resolution, Select Menu by Name, Remove Clipboard Flavors, Set Audio Device, Mute Audio Device, Get Location, and others.
Existing actions have been enhanced with new options, including waiting for an image to appear and then clicking on it, more actions with progress bars, increased options for pressing and finding buttons in application windows, and much more.
The software now offers a wide range of new tokens and functions for retrieving information about web browsers, document paths, application versions, screen resolutions, audio devices, clipboard flavors, and system information.
In addition, version 11 comes with new conditions and filters, along with several minor adjustments and fixes.
