Instagram tests new feature for customizable audience lists in stories

Instagram is in the process of testing a new feature allowing users to create multiple audience lists for their Stories. This builds upon the existing "Close Friends" feature that lets users share Stories with a select group.

The new feature will enable the creation and customization of various lists, giving users the chance to share Stories with different groups or subsets of followers, having more control on their content. The feature will help categorize friends and followers into different lists, such as family, local acquaintances, or shared interests.

While users of the Close Friends feature are excited about the increased flexibility from additional lists, it's important to note that the feature is still being tested and a broader release is not yet confirmed.
