Fitbit introduces AI features for personalized coaching and in-depth fitness insights

Fitbit has introduced new AI features in its app to provide personalized coaching, workout suggestions, and in-depth user insights. These AI capabilities can analyze fitness data and provide insights such as comparing a user's current run with previous ones to determine potential performance factors.

The AI can also detect a slower running pace due to increased elevation and suggest that a lack of sleep may have caused it. It also provides conversational responses to make fitness information more comprehensible to users. The Fitbit app's AI integration is specifically designed to process and analyze health and fitness data, providing actionable insights using AI's mathematical capabilities. This comes alongside the recent release of Android 14 and a new Health Connect feature to integrate health data from third-party apps, including the Fitbit app.

The updated with the new AI features is set to roll out to 'trusted testers' in early 2024. Owners of Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro smartphones will receive priority access as part of the Fitbit Labs program.
