Google Play Games for Windows PCs now available in open beta, supports 40+ Android games

Google has announced that its PC solution for playing mobile games is now available in an open beta.

Google Play Games allows you to take games like Cookie Run Kingdom and Summoners War and play them on your PC running Windows 10 or later. All progress syncs between Android devices and Windows PCs signed in to your Google account, with the added benefit of mouse and keyboard controls for the Windows app.

The app has been in testing since January of this year in a limited capacity and regionally restricted to Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan. Now, it's being made available without restriction in the following countries:

• Australia • Brazil • Canada • Indonesia • Malaysia • Mexico • The Philippines • Singapore • United States

In addition to Windows 10, the app requires a solid state drive with 10 GB of space minimum, 8 GB of RAM, a four (physical) core CPU, and Intel UHD Graphics 630 or above of GPU power.

Google plans to add more games and supported regions to the open beta as it progresses "through 2022 and beyond," with a date to exit beta not being announced. The most up to date information, as well as the download for Google Play Games itself, can be found on play.google.com/googleplaygames.
