YouTube launches personalized "New to you" feed that extends beyond recommended videos
YouTube has implemented a "New to you" feature for discovering channels and videos beyond its existing "recommended videos" functionality.
In an official support blog post, YouTube's community manager details how the feature works. In the post, she gives the following instructions to test the feature out:
"simply tap “New to you” in the topic bar, which is also easily found when you refresh the YouTube homepage (on mobile). You may also see a “New to you” prompt as you scroll through your feed."
The goal of this feature is to help people see new content after they've caught up on subscriptions and recommendations, as well as to help "creators connect with new audiences."
The "New for you" feature is now live across YouTube for desktops, mobile, and TVs. Of course, as it's a personalized feature, you need to be signed in to your Google account (or YouTube brand account) in order to access it.
