Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to PC via multiple storefronts November 5th, Steam in December
Following its release in October of last year, Rockstar Games' universally acclaimed third person Western action-adventure video game Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally coming to PC.
The news came via a surprise press release on Rockstar Games' newswire. In addition to the full single player campaign that was awarded 275 game of the year awards in 2018, the release will also include the game's robust "Red Dead Online" mode with all of the content updates that have been made in its release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
To make up for the year-long wait for PC gaming fans, Rockstar has promised the new release of Red Dead Redemption 2 will include"a range of graphical and technical enhancements for increased immersion along with new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons and more."
In a move that may come off as surprising given the recent climate on exclusivity of recent notable, big budget video game releases on PC, Rockstar has decided to not make Red Dead Redemption 2 exclusive to any one storefront. It will be available on November 5th across the Epic Games Store, GameStop, Green Man Gaming, the Humble Bundle, and, of course, the Rockstar Games Launcher. It will also be made available on Steam in December.
In addition to being released on PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 will also be a launch title for Google's new Stadia cloud-based gaming platform in November. Rockstar has promised that more footage of the PC release of the game will be released on October 9th, so make sure to keep an eye on the developer's official site and YouTube channel if you're interested in the upcoming release. Rockstar has also launched a dedicated PC site for the game.
