Quake Champions is now free-to-play, offering another hero shooter alternative

Another hero shooter based off a classic first person shooter campaign is now free-to-play on PC.

During Bethesda's annual Quakecon convention keynote, developer id Software announced that the latest entry in the Small Quake iconQuake franchise, Quake Champions, will now be free-to-play permanently, more than a year after it exited beta and entered Steam Early Access.

Quake Champions is a first-person shooter with the series' trademark movement mechanics, but with influence from the modern hero shooter trend most popularized by titles such as Small Overwatch iconOverwatch.

The game is available on Small Steam iconSteam or through Bethesda.net.
