New Version Installed MacKeeper Without My Say-So

about FrostWire Mar 2017

I've been using FrostWire off and on over the years, and recently I needed to use it to find an episode of "Talking Dead." I got a message in the program notifying me of a new version, so I dutifully downloaded it ... and somewhere during the installation process, I saw a message about MacKeeper -- which, despite those positive reviews you'll probably find online, is considered by many to be crapware.

Normally on a Mac, you have to provide your system password to install a program -- which is how I found out that the FostWire installer brought something else with it.

Needless to say, both MacKeeper and FostWire have been removed. I have an older version on another Mac which seems to be working just fine -- though it also offers to download an update. I just click "No, Thank you" and continue what I was doing.

It is really a wonderful and is a peer file-to-peer sharing programs. The purpose of the FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw. Share any type of the file on Gnutella and the Bittorrent network.
