2017 Although the application is GPL, it relies on $30USD p.a. membership of NASPA (North American scrabble club) to unlock a lexicon.

I cannot find documentation that describes how to build and install a lexicon.

What is Zyzzyva?

Zyzzyva is a word study program written by Michael W. Thelen. Zyzzyva is free software available under the GNU General Public License. Zyzzyva has been tested under Linux, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later (Panther), Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Installers are provided for all supported platforms, and the latest source code is also available as listed below. It is recommended that you install Zyzzyva on a computer with at least 32 MB of memory (64 MB would probably be better).
