What is yuck?

  • GNU-style long options (--blah)
  • condensable short options (-xab for -x -a -b)
  • optional arguments to long and short options (–foo[=BAR])
  • multiple occurrence of options (-vvv)
  • does not depend on libc’s getopt() nor getopt_long()
