I only use this when I have to. I normally use Pidgin for all my IM unless I really need to use the yahoo web cam ect as some friends just don't get that there are better alternatives that are not this bloated ad disgusting.
ekiga looked good, but Lately I have been using Qnext it has music streaming and desktop sharing. it is a Java based program so it runs on all the OSs.

The client is not nearly as fully featured on Linux as on Windows. Last I used it, sending SMS and calling phones was not available for Linux. Try Ekiga (open-source), Skype (free, commercial), or Pidgin (open-source, IM client)
I used this a lot on windows, and would play the built in games it had with friends of mine, but since I am on Ubuntu I use Kopete more.
