Whilst Foobar2000 is and will continue to be my main audio player, Xion is a great little alternative, or even companion. It's sound output is fantastic, looks great, uses very little resources, and is designed specifically to be a tray-type player as opposed to a full-blown desktop app. It has some nifty settings here and there, like pitch-shifting, PSD skinning, changing the hue of the interface with a simple slider, and changing the window to be either a little strip along your taskbar or a multi-panel interface with playlists, library, visualisations, etc. I personally like using the strip view together with "Always on top."
like winamp, but better
I know this app back in 2007 when windows 7 was still in early release, working well on xp too and consume less memory than winamp even aimp And 2024 still working in windows 11 One of the great software even after the update stop on 2016 but still working flawlesly
