What is Wordle - Word Clouds?
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Wordle is a good tool, and one of the first of its kind... but it requires Java to be installed on your computer, and enable on your browser, which is an horrible practice these days (java is on of the main vectors to unknowingly catch viruses while browsing websites).
And I found Tagxedo to be a feature-richer alternative.
Not exactly. The brain behind Wordle actually created Desktop stand alone versions of the program which work for both windows and mac. Tagxedo, are you serious? You'll need to install silverlight + the program is so, so, so limited compared to Wordle! Wordle is like 10 times better than any of the alternatives suggested here.
