The usage is simple: just set the hotspot name, the password, the Internet sharing options and press the 'Start' button! The application installs Microsoft miniport WiFi Drivers that will enable you to share your connection to smart phones and other devices.
winhotspot scan's for all the WiFi networks nearby and shows you the Signal quality and Channel. You will get best support from developer. It has safe mode. It supports windows 8 . It is more stable . It shows clients connected. It has a inbuilt bandwidth meter. It will automatically install Miniport drivers / virtual WiFi hotspot drivers. It has the best troubleshooting tools. If your laptop is physically switched off WiFi , as of today this is the only software which detects and tell you . Looking at the screenshots, I did not think of this as an alternative to try.
Perhaps it does not surprise me to learn from the comments that this comes with malware. Furthermore, the website is also really ugly and full of spam. The screenshots also show the application expects you to put in a password for wireless points.
How does the creator expect anybody to trust such a poorly designed and poorly implemented application with wireless point passwords? I also do not trust all the likes given to this alternativeTo entry, which has put it at the top of alternatives to inSSIDer.

Above all, it does not work but only crashes instantly. This is on Windows 10.
The installer attempts to download and install adware, which it gives you the option to de-select, but it tries to trick you into clicking "OK" and installing it anyway.
On top of that, it attempts to download something called "LUCKY SAVINGS-INTERNALINSTALLER.EXE" WITHOUT your consent or knowledge. There is no option to not install this. Oh, and it gets WORSE. When you attempt to uninstall Lucky Savings, it tries to install some DNS "fixer" which you absolutely don't need, and Symantec detects it as "Trojan.dropper". This is atrocious behavior, and incredibly shady, and I would recommend NOT downloading this software.
AVOID THIS SOFTWARE AT ALL COSTS.
please do not select the tool bar installer.. I have used somoto installer to earn few bucks which helps me.

Hi, Its just a downloader.. Its safe.. its from reputed softonic.... While downloading if you do not like do not install any advertise toolbar or any extra software...

Pros: I like winhotspot , It is fast and it has repair tool which is a must for virtual hotspot softwares
cons: Doen't have list of clients connected (hope the developer sees this comment and add's it)
