What is V8cgi?

v8cgi is a server side (FastCGI or Apache module) and client side shell/batch scripting language. It's based on Google's V8 JavaScript implementation. It's available under an Open Source BSD license. It currently runs on Windows, Linux and BSD machines with additional platforms possible. There's access to JavaScript language functionality plus support for local file access, XML parsing, databases, sockets, OpenGL, compression and more.
