What is uTox?
µTox is the lightweight client with minimal dependencies; it not only looks pretty, it runs fast! µTox is available for Windows, OS X, and Linux (Android support is experimental), with full support for chat, file transfers, audio/video calling, and desktop sharing (both as video and inline screenshots). It also supports text group chats with audio groups pending the next Toxcore update.

This program does not save the profile or retain any changes I make while using it. Its every launch is like the first one. Windows 8.1 32 bit.
uTox 0.18.1 code quality is poor. As a result, uTox has a lot of 0day vulnerabilities. For example, uTox through 0.18.1 doesn't validate incoming file name, allowing remote attacker to overwrite arbitrary file on victim's machine. Remote attacker may overwrite ~/.bashrc or ~/.profile as well, causing remote code execution. Also uTox 0.18.1 has remote heap overflow in function native_autoselect_dir_ft(), allowing remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
