What is User State Migration Tool?

IT pros use the User State Migration Tool (USMT) to streamline and simplify large deployments of Windows operating systems. USMT captures and migrates user accounts, personal files, operating system settings, and application settings. It can safely migrate said items to a new OS installation (same PC) or a different PC.

USMT consists of three command-line utilities: LoadState, ScanState, and UsmtUtils.
