What is UseInterpreter?
Interpreter eliminates note-taking for over-the-phone interpreters. It displays both sides of a phone call on screen the moment words are spoken, with sub-500ms latency. Interpreters can glance at medication names, case numbers, or addresses instead of scribbling them down mid-sentence.
The tool offers two modes: Polyglot provides live two-way translation (e.g. English on one side, Spanish on the other), while Polyglot Mini provides real-time transcription with click-to-translate for any line. An Assisted mode handles rare languages by combining real-time transcription for supported languages with push-to-transcribe for unsupported ones.
Key capabilities include speaker identification, automatic language detection, domain-specific context (medical, legal, finance, government), and custom terminology. It supports 60+ languages including Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, Portuguese, French, German, Korean, Japanese, and Hindi.
Privacy is central to the design: audio streams through memory only with no storage or logging. Interpreter is HIPAA compliant, SOC 2 Type II certified, and GDPR compliant. When a session ends, all data is gone.
