Brilliant little bit of software. Something like this should have been default a decade or more ago.
For anyone unsure how to use it:
This program is pretty similar to the program Default Programs Editor. They will both give you an easy way to do different actions with selected file types. I'm not sure which program I like better yet, though I think Default Programs Editor gives a cleaner, easier access to the file types, and may offer a broader range of action choices. One tipoff that Types is an older program is the reference to "Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) used in early versions of Windows. DDE allows programs to manipulate objects provided by other programs. DDE was partially superseded by Object Linking and Embedding (OLE), and is currently maintained in Windows systems only for the sake of backward compatibility." One star off for being old/confusing.
The best tool for fix file associations.
Works well on windows 10
This tool is quite helpful to change the file association when default app settings are broken. Compared to regedit or system settings, it is fast and easy to use.
the link to this tool is offline...

Found it ... the "official Website" button works perfectly fine!
A portable and functional tool that does what it needs to do, edit file types. Not to mention it does it better than the cut-down association editors of Windows Vista and 7.
