What is Troll's Goals?

The first things you'll want to add to Troll's Goals are domains, which are categories for the areas you'll be adding. Click "Add New Domain", fill out the tooltip with information about the domain, and click "Create" or hit Enter.

My two go-to domains are Business, for work-related activities, and Pleasure, for activities I do strictly to entertain myself.

Once you've defined your domains, add your areas, which are types of activities you do, and/or things you want to track. Click the + symbol next to the domain's "Total", fill in the tooltip with information about the area, and click "Create" or hit Enter. The area fields could use some explaining:

Name - the name of the area. This is the only required field; the rest of the fields are optional. Description - whatever you want to say about the area. Descriptions are only shown when you hover the mouse over an area. Domain - the domain the area falls under. Enter Record Details? - do you want to be automatically prompted for details about records when you create them? (See the next section, "Records".)

I define areas for each of the activity types I frequently perform, and/or reasons I have for performing those activities. I also define "Etc. [Domain name]" areas to capture anything else I do that's worth a checkmark in a given domain. For example, if I find myself frequently creating "Etc. Business" checkmarks for gardening, I'll create a new Business area named Gardening.
