What is Translation Lens?

Translation Lens is a transparent, always-on-top window you place over any text on your Windows screen. Click Translate, and it reads the text with local OCR and translates it with AI.

The problem: On a phone, you can point Google Lens at foreign text and get an instant translation. On PC, there's nothing like that — especially for text you can't select or copy. Game dialogue, text in images, fullscreen apps.

How it works:

  • Place the transparent window over text you want to translate
  • Click Translate
  • OCR runs locally on your PC (Windows.Media.Ocr) — no network needed
  • AI translation powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite delivers natural, context-aware results

Features:

  • 8 languages: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Korean, German, French, Spanish
  • High-Precision Mode for handwriting and stylized fonts
  • Smart caching: same text = instant translation, no credits used
  • 20 free translations included

Available on Steam.
