What is TMPGEnc Authoring Works?
Creating a DVD, Blu-ray or AVCHD Should Be Fun, Not Confusing. At least, that's our philosophy. There are a lot of rules (called "standards") when making a DVD, Blu-ray or AVCHD, and it can get downright confusing. Our approach is to let the software handle that, and let you do the fun part. Get creative and edit your videos, add transitions, subtitles, and create custom menus or use pre-made menu templates. Our updated Smart Rendering engine allows you to edit standard-compliant MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC video with little to no loss in quality and ultra fast output.
And if you really want to, you can get down and dirty with detailed settings for bitrates, audio streams, and more. Complex when you want it to be, easy when you don't; that's our approach to software.

B.S.!! "Creating a DVD, Blu-ray or AVCHD Should Be Fun, Not Confusing"
For $100 (the cost of TMPGEnc when I purchased it last year) this has got to be THEEEEEE most confusion authoring software EVER! I wish Adobe would bring back Encore. TMPGEnc claims you can create your own menus. Absolutely nowhere in that $100 program was I able to import a menu the way you can in Adobe Encore. I spent HOURS trying to figure it out. This TMPGEnc wants to give you 5th grade elementary level menus with stupid little "chapter stop" boxes in the center of the screen. Sorry, but no! I have extras that I want to add to my DVDs/Blu-rays. But all you can do is bring in the main feature, click the elementary style menu choices they offer and make your cute little 5th grade level "My Movie" DVD. I'd expect that from a $20 cheap program, not from one that costs $100. Oh, and don't expect a refund from them when you literally walk them through their own program to PROVE that you cannot "create/import" your own menu. LIES! LIES! LIES! Save your money and just flood Adobe with emails demanding they bring back Encore.
