Chord Trainer is a free, browser-based speed-drill tool for jazz pianists who want to build muscle memory for chord voicings across all 12 keys.

Show a chord symbol ? play it on your MIDI keyboard ? the app validates it automatically and tracks your speed. Repeat until every voicing is automatic.

Key features: • 16 chord types — Maj7, 7, m7, m7b5, dim7, 6, m6, 9, m9, Maj9, 6/9, Maj7#11, 7#9, 7b9, m11, 13 • 9 voicing types — Root position, Shell (3-7), Rootless A & B (Bill Evans style), all inversions • Progression modes — Random, ii-V-I through all 12 keys, Cycle of 4ths, I-vi-ii-V Turnaround • Custom progressions — paste any chord sequence (Autumn Leaves, All The Things You Are, etc.) • Real-time MIDI validation — automatic chord recognition, octave-tolerant, extensions allowed • Per-chord timing and weakness analysis • Practice plans — one-tap presets from warm-up to challenge mode • Audio playback and built-in metronome (40–240 BPM) • No signup required, completely free
